KARACHI: At least 43 more dengue fever cases surfaced in the metropolitan within a week – taking the dengue patients’ toll to 1,773 since January 1.
According to the Prevention and Control Programme for Dengue in Sindh’s weekly report, at least 59 new dengue fever cases surfaced in Sindh province from November 18 to November 24 – out of which 43 were reported in Karachi, 11 in Mithi or Tharparkar and five in Hyderabad.
Out of the 43 dengue fever cases, eight were reported from District Central, seven from District South, six from District West, 14 from District East, five from District Korangi and three from District Malir.
A total of three deaths were reported from dengue fever in the province so far, out of which two were from Karachi and one was from Shaheed Benazirabad – while another death caused by dengue fever in the city could not be confirmed by health officials.
