ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan lashed out at Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan’s press conference and said that the former Information minister – Pervez Rasheed – ‘was not a child’.
The PTI chief said that Rashid had represented the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on TV channels for a long time and with that experience, ‘how could he send a report to media without scrutinising it’.
Khan – while talking to media persons at Bani Gala on Sunday – said that nobody can accept it that Pervez Rasheed was not aware of the fact that the story he was sending to media was the stance of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While referring to Rashid’s statement that says sacrifices are demanded in the larger interests of Pakistan, the cricketer-turned-politician differentiated between the interests of the ‘royal family’ and the nation – in a thin-veiled accusation that the PML-N government was playing behind the scenes.
