ISLAMABAD: The Bank, in a letter to Secretary Benazir Income Supports Programme, said Joint Implementation Support Mission, in its report, highlighted that all the targets meted out to BISP have been achieved, rather some of the targets have been overachieved.
Acknowledging BISP as Pakistan’s flagship Social Safety Net Program the mission upgraded the progress towards achieving the Development Objective as highly satisfactory while the rating of the project management has been upgraded to satisfactory.
BISP since its inception has emerged as one of the best social safety nets in the world catering to the 5.3 million poor families all across Pakistan. United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID) was also part of the mission. The mission held its review of the Program in Islamabad from 5th -9th September 2016.
