KARACHI: Patients care in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) on Wednesday partially remained disturbed as several schedule surgeries were delayed due to power breakdown.
Reliable Sources at JPMC told PPI that tripping in one of feeder caused power breakdown in the institution. He said power breakdown caused hardship to the patients. Some attendants also staged protest demonstration against the hospital administration outside Operation Theater over delay of scheduled surgeries.
“There are nine standby generators in the hospital, out of which four are not working due to some fault while others are also very old and not functioning properly,” patients said.
Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center Jawaid Akhter Jamali, told PPI that sudden power breakdown caused hardship to the patients for while but administration used backup generators to provide electricity to Casualty Department, Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and other department. He said schedule surgeries had been delayed due to power breakdown but no operation was postponed.
